President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has witnessed the signing of statement of apology & renunciation of insurgent activities in Rwenzori region.
In a meeting last night, RwenzururuLeaders admitted constant harassment and attacks on police posts and said that defiance of government authority is regrettable.
Rwenzururu leaders also apologized to the people and government for loss of lives and property, acknowledging that the incident could have been averted.
The signing ceremony was also attended by Biira Christine, Her Royal Highness, Agnes I. Mumbere the king’s wife, Chief Prince C. Kibanzaga, Prince William Kibanzaga & Princess C. Kibanzaga.
Rwenzururu Leaders now say the Omusinga was misadvised by some individuals within region. They now seek tranquility and restoration of security.
