The Obusinga bwa Rwenzururu is ready to dialogue with government in order to end the dark cloud that has hovered over the kingdom for weeks leading to the death of several people.
Addressing the press in Muyenga this afternoon, Bwambale Clarence the kingdom spokesperson said the Kingdom’s only pledge to the spilt blood of their brothers and sisters is that they will henceforth choose and commit themselves to the right response to the tragedy that claimed their (brothers and sisters) lives.
“In so doing, we will choose to negotiate and discuss on mutual grounds of respect and deep maturity knowing that no human conflict was ever resolved without meangful give and take on both sides” said Bwambale.
He added; “We will consciously refrain from satisfying our thirst for justice by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred. We will forever conduct our daily struggles on the high plane of dignity and discipline.”
He explained that clan leaders were invited by and met the president but he promised to get to back to them this week.
“He however informed them that Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu is still there and he urged the people to work for sustainable peace in the kingdom. The president still recognizes King Mumbere as the King of Rwenzururu Kingdom” Bwambale said.
About Omusinga’s incarceration, Bwambale says a committee has been instituted to handle the Kingdom Administration matters coordinated by the Ag. Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Yeremia Mutooro with its core objectives of securing the freedom of His Majesty Charles Wesley Mumbere, re-organizing and refocusing the Kingdom structures for continuity and securing the freedom of all those arrested, incarcerated and held incommunicado as well as ensuring dialogue meetings at all levels are taking place to restore peace in the community and the entire Rwenzori Region.
