Two weeks ago, the offices of the Human Rights Awareness and Promotion Forum (HRAPF) a non-governmental organization working for non-discrimination and access to justice for marginalized groups were broken into by unknown personnel.

The offices are located in Namirembe, Rubaga Division. The robbers also killed a duty guard and took an unknown number of documents leaving all electronics and a safe containing millions of Shillings untouched.

But now, preliminary police investigations into the break-in and murder of the guard show that the attack was an inside job orchestrated by the company management.

According to police, investigations into the break in are ongoing with IT experts from the forensic Unit of police analyzing the footage. The initial footage retrieved from a CCTV camera at the premises which was widely shared on social media showed two unmasked men entering the office premises.

The suspects are still on the run. But, a preliminary police report indicates that the managers had refused police to view the entire CCTV footage, and also refused to share it with administrators of G4S security group which runs the company's security.

Police spokesperson Fred Enanga told the press that; "The break-in appears to be an internal plan basing on how they were protecting the footage or else they are hiding something."
Only a file containing top management minutes and two other files belonging to clients were stolen from the office of the Executive Director Andrew Jjuuko.
