Uganda police says there will not be consideration of the 20 million shillings reward on the whereabouts of Christopher Aine as had earlier been the case.

In a statement released this afternoon, police spokesperson Fred Enanga said since Aine was not found by anybody, but handed himself over to security operatives, the reward will not be given out.

The statement also indicates that Aine returned last evening in a healthy condition, shaming Go forward Lawyers who had dragged police to court over his whereabouts, and self-styled political analyst Charles Rwomushana who claimed he had died.

Enanga further explains that the search for Aine is over, and thanked the public for their cooperation.

“We would like to announce that the search for Aine has ended and we would wish to applaud him once again for his voluntary return, which is a legal obligation.”

He calls on Ugandans not to undermine future attempts by police to get information about unsolved crimes by offering rewards.
