The local entertainment industry receives at least one new awards Academy each year but what's more frustrating is that —  before we even understand and accept the previous one, a fresh one launches.
This year The Uganda Music Awards (TUMA) launched in May at Acacia Avenue based Fame lounge bar and restaurant in an event staged and organized by Fenton records.
Unfortunately last Friday evening during their first edition revelers together with musicians shun the occasion evidently by empty seats.
The nomination list that was dominated by YKee Benda also witnessed Kenzo bagging the biggest number of accolades.
A fan during the event was over heard saying that she has never seen such a flop of before at Kampala Serena hotel in a long time.
Lillian Mbabazi and Dedan of Radio City tried to give life to the bored crowd with "ill" jokes, supported with performances from B2C, Ykee Benda, Irene Ntale and Kenneth Mugabi.
By the time the artiste of the year was announced the crowd was finger counted as most revelers had moved to the red carpet to make a statement on social media.
