Hon Miria Matembe a leading women’s activist in the country has apologised for the photograph of her which recently went viral.
Matembe said yesterday that she was shocked to learn that a friend she was with in a foreign hotel relaxing on the balcony took this photo and spread it on social media.
Matembe was on Friday speaking at the 6th Annual International Leadership Conference which was opened yesterday in Bugolobi by the Vice President Edward Sekandi.

She said it was unfortunate that a fellow woman took advantage of their private moments in a hotel to take the picture and worse still, send it out.
“A hotel room is like your bedroom at home, where you are expected to have a degree of privacy,” she said.
“I have already forgiven the person who took the photo.”
She appealed to women to respect one another and not to pull others down especially for no good reason.
“As human beings we are prone to make mistakes but even when mistakes are made we should not take advantage of them.”
