Swangz Avenue boss Benon Mugumbya began his music career in his early twenties with Vampos, now Vampino, as a duo.

He was also involved in production at the time. However, Benon chose to focus on music production and stopped releasing music himself.

Later, he and Julius Kyazze started Swangz Avenue music label, a talent management company that now manages Winnie Nwagi, Vinka, Azawi, Zafaran, and Elijah Kitaka.

Benon explained that he became very comfortable with talent management and also wanted to introduce new talent to the industry. He felt the need to groom other musicians into big stars.

"I felt that it was no longer fulfilling and ended up getting comfortable being in the background and creating a stepping stone for other young, upcoming artists," he revealed.

Swangz Avenue has previously managed Irene Ntale, Michael Ross, Viboyo Oweyo, James B, Vampino, and Young Zee, among others.
