The director of operations Uganda Police Afande Andrew Felix Kaweesi yesterday while addressing the event managers and musicians at Makindye, warned artistes who don’t show up at events on which they are expected to perform will be arrested.

He told off Musicians that many people have complained about artistes who appear on posters for certain shows and instead give excuses when people fail to see them performing. He was told promoters who like putting artistes on posters before they consult them and when they fail to show up, they go on and use the same posters and this has continuously tainted their name

Among artists that Afande Kaweesi pointed out was Bebe Cool, He warned artists who sing fake and meaningless songs that they will be arrested or requested to move out the music industry through their Artists Organization they subscribe to.

He further cautioned everyone to endeavor to respect the schedules especially in these hype days of Christmas as many of them will be at high demand and whoever fails to do so will be charged for extortion. “We shall arrest anyone whom people pay for and doesn’t show up,” he warned.
