Don’t politicize music – Zex Bilangilangi Advises Bobi Wine

Zex Bilangilangi, known as the self-proclaimed dancehall ghetto ambassador, has voiced his concerns alongside other artists regarding the unity of musicians under a single umbrella organization.

The formation of the Eddy Kenzo’s Federation by a group of musicians has led to allegations from Bobi Wine, a singer turned politician, who claims it is President Yoweri Museveni's federation. This has created difficulties for artists aligned with Bobi Wine to join the federation.

During Kat Lubwama's funeral, where Bobi Wine, Uganda's prominent opposition leader, made a comment, he cautioned that artists risked becoming beggars within the association. Consequently, the issue has become highly politicized.

Zex Bilangilangi expressed his stance during an appearance on UBC Horizon Vibe, stating,

"I am not going to involve myself in something I don't understand. I am a member of the Ugandan music community; don’t politicize music."
