A few days ago, a woman alleging to be Red Banton’s landlady came out to accuse him of defaulting on rent for many months and then playing hide and seek.

Red Banton has since distanced himself from the woman and says he doesn’t know her.
He, however, says her lies have helped him get money from sympathizers.
“I have been getting money from my friends, especially in the diaspora. Yes, I had not paid two months' rent, but that lady is not my landlady. The ones I know will get the money,” he says
Red Banton has not had any hit song in many years.
