Legendary MC and show host, Mc Kats scooped the Legend of the year Award at Galaxy FM sponsored Zzina Awards for his contribution towards Ugandan music.
The event that happened at the Thobani Building, along Kampala Road over the weekend seeks to appreciate and reward the different sectors of the entertainment industry.
While receiving his Award, he praised Galaxy FM boss, Dr. Innocent Nahabwe for changing the radio landscape in Uganda and giving a platform to young talents.
According to Mc Kats, Galaxy FM is the best radio station despite starting as a joke nine years ago.
Mc Kats said Innocent’s great talent management abilities have been instrumental in shaping the future of many radio personalities that made radio debut on the station.
These stars include Dj Nimrod, Prim Asiimwe, Little Joe, and Dj Herbert among others.
Mc Kats also applauded Innocent for creating a radio that voices the concerns of the common young people and opens doors for them irrespective of background.
“I want to thank Innocent for opening doors to young people. Galaxy FM gives a chance to everyone to become a star. Besides supporting Ugandan music, Innocent and Galaxy FM continue to produce big stars in the radio industry,” he said while receiving his award.
Mc Kats join a list of Moses Matovu, Ragga Dee, and Jose Chameleone who already received the accolade of Legend of the year Award from Galaxy FM.
