Recently, a group of artists stormed Gulu army barracks demanding to meet Operation Wealth Creation boss, Salim Saleh.  They wanted to table issues affecting the industry.

The main issue was about the opening of concerts and events.  However, the artists faced it rough as they were beaten by the security operatives and some are reportedly nursing wounds.

According to Cindy, the Uganda Musicians' Association(UMA) president, the disgruntled artists were mobilized by the UMA administrator.

Cindy says she was disappointed in their behavior and some of them were recorded on video saying that they don’t believe in the leadership of UMA.

“I can’t intervene in matters of people who say they don’t believe in my leadership. They said they want to create their leadership committee. Let’s see how that goes,” Cindy told members of the press.
