Musician Jose Chameleone refused Bobi Wine's appeal to stand as MP for Mityana North constituency thus leaving Kampala Lord Mayor race for Latif Ssebagala on NUP ticket.
The latest development is that Chameleone has gone ahead and formed a team lead by Samuel Walter Lubega who was recently sacked from NUP for promoting DP to disrupt Latif Ssebagala's support in Kampala.
"Walter Lubega will head the team and their role is to persuade the vetting committee to allow Chameleone to carry the NUP flag for Lord Mayor," source said.
Chameleone will officially open his offices in Lubaga South on Tuesday and the place will act as his campaign command center.
Some people claim that Chameleone is slowly planning a coup against Bobi Wine using NUP structures.
Alternative sources say he is planning on quitting NUP.
