It was reported recently that socialite Zari Hassan was taking over the Miss Uganda franchise. This seemed true considering the pageant did not happen this year, apparently due to financial woes. Although, it is not clear if Zari is interested in the pageant, we can confirm that Brenda is not willing to sell.

When Howwe spoke to Brenda, she said she will start thinking about handing over the franchise after her 10-year contract expires. So far, she has been organizing the Miss Uganda pageant for seven years.

Miss Uganda representatives say the pageant will bounce back next year.

The franchise has for the past couple of years been struggling to get sponsors. This year, they failed to get more sponsors after Movit Uganda pulled out. Brenda is currently outside the country. It is believed she is staying at her baby daddy’s house.

It was confirmed that current Miss Uganda, Leah Kagasa will remain our Miss Uganda until next year. Leah has set a record as the first ever Miss Uganda to hold the title for two years.
