Pastor Aloysius Bugingo of House of Prayer Ministries (HPM) International was summoned to attend court on Monday. As he headed to Nabweru Court to defend himself on allegations of burning Bibles recently, his followers caused drama as they started praying in tongues in front of the Church. Police tried to calm them down but it was overpowered.

The followers, who were singing hymns praising their pastor became rowdy and interrupted the court proceeding. The court session was temporarily adjourned.

Later, police blocked the rowdy followers from accessing court premises due to fear of disrupting court proceedings again.

In April this year, Dembe Fm Aloysius Matovu Kiiza and Francis Jemba through their lawyers Wameli and co. Advocates filed a case against the pastor for burning the holy bibles.

City lawyer, Anthony Wameli said that it is criminal for a pastor to burn Bibles because it is against the Constitution that guarantees freedom of worship and he is abusing the objects of worship which include Bibles, Qurans, rosaries and any other items people may choose to use during worship.
