The producers of the UG Hip-Hop Awards are pleased to announce the first ever awards ceremony celebrating and recognizing the Uganda’s hip-hop excellence.

The UG hip-hop awards are created with a purpose of the honoring the acts, individuals and brands who contribute to the enrichment of the genre through the different elements of hip-hop.

The UG hip-hop awards will be an annual ceremony with the first occasion slated to take place on 2nd December 2016. The awards have 22 Key categories and the various stakeholders are encouraged to visit The Tribe UG website to make submissions their work for consideration.

The submission will run from 16th August 2016 and close on 15th September 2016.

Artists are encouraged to submit works released between 1st January 2015 and 30th June 2016. The successful top 5 nominees will be announced on 1st October 2016 via The Tribe UG website. Voting by the public will start on 2nd October 2016 and close on 20th November 2016.

All categories will be open for entry and voting to thepublic except the “Life time achievement” award and the “Hustler of the year”award.
