Students at Makerere University are at it … once again…
A few weeks ago, the students threatened to strike incase their issues were incessantly ignored.Students, led by their Guild President Bwowe Ivan and another group under Students Brotherhood, have stormed Makerere University campus in ira … as they promised on Friday during a press meeting.
The cause of strike is an apparent increment in graduation fees. It is reported that the University hiked graduation fees from 90,000 to 220,000 Uganda shillings ….
Members of students brotherhood who have started their move from the mighty Lumumba hall are proceeding into campus (at the time of this post) … storming into lecture rooms building mammoth crowds to set for the freedom square.
Police equipped with teargas and rubber bullets are looking on as students are going on a rampage…
