Police in Kiboga District have launched investigations into circumstances under which a security guard was attacked and shot at on Sunday night.
The deceased has been identified as Tumwine Badiru, a security guard attached to 1980 Kabarole Youth War Veteran ltd at Bukomero Premier Sacco and a resident of Kakunyu A lc1, Bukomero town council in Kiboga district.
Badiru was gunned down by unknown goons at 10:30 pm at Bukomero Premier Sacco while on duty. He was ordered to kneel down before being shot several times to the head.
Asp Racheal Kawala, the Wamala Regional Police Spokesperson says the deceased was in the company of another guard who survived with minor injuries.
She says preliminary investigations indicate that after shooting dead the deceased, the goons proceeded to steal his gun before fleeing the scene of crime.
Kawala says police detectives have already visited the scene and collected various exhibits including cartridge casings that will be submitted for further analysis.
She further states that the deceased’s body has been handed over to Kiboga hospital while police embark on recovering the stolen gun and arresting the suspects.
