The territorial police at Katwe are investigating a death by suspected suicide of Bright Namusoke, a 20-year-old senior six student at Kitebi Senior Secondary School.
The incident happened Wednesday at about 4pm in Ngobe Zone, Bunamwaya Division, Makindye Ssabagabo Municipality, in Wakiso District.
Namusoke’s family says she returned from school and informed them that a teacher abused her and she was so angry.
The relatives didn't take it seriously. Unfortunately, they found her hanging dead on a rope in one of the rooms in their house.
The police were informed and officers responded and recorded statements to help with the investigations.
ASP Luke Owoyesigyire Deputy PRO KMP says the investigative team was also informed by the deceased's relatives that she had a history of mental illness which often reoccurred and she has been struggling.
The deceased's body was then conveyed to the city mortuary at Mulago for post-mortem.
