Police in Hoima is looking for an unidentified driver on the run for knocking dead four people on Monday morning

All four people riding on a motorcycle are confirmed dead after being hit by a vehicle along the Hoima-Kaiso-Tonya road.

The accident that occurred near Kyamukunjuki trading center in Kitoba sub-county, involved a motorcycle registration number UDW 280K Bajaj and a Toyota wish, registration number UBK 654V.

The Toyota Wish was headed to Hoima from Kampala and rammed into the victims who were reportedly heading to Bujawe forest in Kitoba sub-county, for timber harvesting.

The deceased persons have only been identified by a single name each; Elvis, Darius, Jackson, and Onesmus, all residents of Chongambe trading center in the Buseruka sub-county.

Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson said that the driver who is yet to be identified abandoned the vehicle and took off after the accident. He says police preliminary investigations indicate that the accident was a result of overspeeding.

The motorcycle and the vehicle involved in the accident have been towed and parked at Hoima Central Police Station.
