Police in Kampala is holding six thugs arrested in a botched city robbery this afternoon. The group of thugs is said to have attempted to rob City oil Kamwokya branch.

Kayima Emilian the Kampala metropolitan Police spokesperson identified the thugs a  Kintu Douglas a 27 year shoe vendor in Kampala and resident of Nansana, Ogwal Nicholas 45, a resident of Nakawa division, Baguma Francis 35, a mutooro and shoe vendor in Kampala too, Okello Robert 28, a boda boda rider and resident of Mulimira zone, Lukwago Frank 27, a resident of Nansana and Tonny Nnume who was injured in the scuffle.

“All the six are with us here, we are going to interrogate all of them and hopefully sooner than later, we should be able to have their files complete and take them to court” Kayima said.

According to the police mouthpiece, the group had other plans to rob Equity Bank in Wandegeya. During this afternoon’s shootout between police and the thugs, one employee of city oil was injured and rushed to Mulago as well as a one robber.

Kayima also told HowweBiz that a few cars were destroyed, but it was a minor incident that resolved in no time.

He called upon the public especially people living in the Kampala metropolitan area to be vigilant as armed robbers are on a rise in the city.
