Police in Mbarara have recovered two guns that were used to raid a pump fuel station in Sheema about 6 days ago.

Police in Mbarara have recovered two guns that were used to raid a pump fuel station in Sheema about 6 days ago.

On December 28th, 2016, thugs raided Bam fuel station in Kabwohe- Itendero Municipality and took off with unspecified amount of money after killing the guard identified as Julius Turyamusiima, attached to Tiger Security Group limited.

Turyamusiima was gunned down as he tried to foil the robbery. On Tuesday, Police arrested the duo and recovered the guns believed to have been used in the robbery with the help of the suspects picked up in connection with the robbery. 

Jaffar Magyezi, the Mbarara District Police Commander, identifies the thugs as Twagiramungu Justus and Tusiime Alex, both porters in Mbarara.

Magyezi adds that the duo goes on the road to carryout robberies in the whole of Western Uganda and some parts of Kampala.

He says they picked up the suspects during an operation to stem robberies.

According to Magyezi, the guns were found hidden in a bush along the Mbarara - Masaka highway, about four kilometers from Mbarara town.
