The High court will today hear the case in which five people, including business man Andrew Desh Kananura are accused of murder.

The accused are believed to have beaten a one Badru Kateregga, an employee at one of Desh’s bar to death.

The case was allocated to Justice Joseph Murangira who is set to preside over 50 cases in the next criminal session scheduled for this month.

Desh is charged alongside his brother Raymond Kananura and a security guard identified as Samuel Muzolwa. The deceased was an attendant at Panamera bar and restaurant, a popular city hangout owned by Desh Kananura.

Prosecution argues that on September 30th 2012, while at Panamera bar in Naguru, the accused tortured Kateregga after he was found in possession of 30,000 shillings, an amount exceeding the allowed cash to be held by any employee.

After the incident, Desh Kananura went into hiding and would later be arrested on 19th January 2013 at Entebbe airport as he returned from the UK where he had sought refuge.

Desh was then charged before city hall Court in Kampala and remanded to Luzira for the alleged murder, but later got bail, together with his co-accused.
