Police in Kampala have rescued the 6-year-old girl who went missing from Green Hill Academy, Buwaate campus on Tuesday evening
Ms Nicole Mitala went missing when a certain woman showed up at the school and picked her up claiming she was taking her home.
Teachers and administrators at the school were moments later shocked to learn that the pupil hadn’t been taken to her home.
Moments later, the rightful person who had earlier been tasked with picking her up arrived at the school sending shivers down the teachers’ spines.

Mr Emilian Kayima, the Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson told Daily Monitor by telephoned that police experts in child related crime together with the flying squad carried out an operation and rescued the child on Wednesday evening.
Mr Kayima explained that the people who had taken the girl communicated to the parents asking for huge sums of money.
“Those who had kidnapped this young girl started demanding for money from the girl’s parents. We advised the parents to continue to speaking to them,’’ said Mr Kayima.

He noted that after the parents confirming that their child was alive, police encouraged them to hand over the money to where kidnappers had instructed them to. The kid was thereafter dropped along Kampala road.
However, the kidnappers were unable to take the money as police used its skills to recover it.
Mr Kayima, however urged teachers and administrators at the schools to always be vigilant on who picks the children from school because this is not the first time it was happening asserting that when children are taken, parents suffer the most.
