The ruling on whether Former Kampala CPS DPC Aaron Baguma will be granted bail has been deferred to tomorrow Thursday September 8th.

Justice Wilson Masalu Musene has remanded Baguma to Kigo.

Baguma was on Tuesday Committed to High Court with his three co-accused persons by the Buganda Road Magistrate Jamson Karemani, who advised him to apply for bail.

Baguma immediately applied to be temporarily released from prison pending commencement of his murder trial before the High Court.

But it was argued that Baguma’s application was prematurely brought before the High Court as one cannot apply for bail before the charges have been read to him.

He presented three sureties including Head of Traffic Police AIGP Stephen Kasiima, Robert Kato a Senior Accountant in the Ministry of Defence and Emmanuel Muhanguzi his Uncle.

Baguma's Lawyer, Abraham, prayed for a non cash Bail, but the State Attorney, Muwaganya told Court not to rely on Baguma’s application which he said contained falsehoods.

“Claims he has acute ulcers which require special diet but hasn't filed a single medical report” argued Muwaganya.

In turn, Justice Musene remanded Baguma back to Kigo and ordered that he is produced before the same court tomorrow for a ruling on whether or not he is granted bail

Baguma faces murder charges alongside 8 others after a Kampala business woman died under his watch.
