5 years after a not too impressive stint at the Philippine Congress, globally renowned boxer, Manny Pacquiao has declared his intention to run for his country’s Senate.

Arguably the most popular man in Philippine, Pacquiao disclosed to his constituents this morning that he will be seeking a higher office following the expiration of his 2nd term which is approaching. ‘In the coming days, I will be embracing new levels of responsibility.

I will be confronting tough challenges. My second term as your congressmen will soon be over, but I will continue to be of service you and to our fellow Filipinos, he said during his state of district address this morning.

The boxer who lost to Floyd Mayweather in what has been termed the fight of the century is a member of the opposition party which has the Vice President, Jejomar Binay as its Presidential candidate but he has disclosed that the ruling party which the incumbent president, Benigno Aquino belongs to has been wooing him.
