Daniella Atim has announced that she is single, officially ending her 17-year marriage with the legendary singer Joseph Mayanja, also known as Jose Chameleone.

Chameleone and Daniella tied the knot in a vibrant ceremony on June 7th, 2007, and together they have five children. Despite facing challenges in their relationship, they always kept their issues private until Daniella left Chameleone's home in 2017 and sought refuge at Sipapa's place. She later filed for divorce at Nakawa Magistrate Court, citing brutality. Although the couple managed to reconcile and 're-unite' at that time.

In February 2019, Daniella and her children relocated to the USA after Jose Chameleone spent over $200,000 to secure a mansion in Minneapolis, Minnesota. However, signs began to show that Daniella had ended her relationship with Chameleone, evident from her cryptic social media posts and audios.

The situation escalated in September 2020 when an audio surfaced with Daniela Atim stating that she was no longer romantically involved with Jose Chameleone and now viewed him as a brother. In August 2022, Daniella publicly rebuked Chameleone's mother on Instagram for not intervening when Weasel Manizo assaulted Sandra Teta, implying a history of turning a blind eye to such behavior.

In October 2023, Daniella broke her silence and disclosed that she left Chameleone due to his alcoholism, erratic behavior, and late-night returns home. She expressed that while she respects him as a father to their children, their relationship as husband and wife is over. Daniella plans to build her own home in Uganda but not in Kampala.

Since Daniella moved to the US five years ago, Chameleone has been attempting unsuccessfully to reconcile with her.

Sunday evening, Daniella took to Instagram to announce her breakup with Chameleone, claiming that she is now a single mother who has freed herself from domestic violence.

"My name is Daniella, and I live in a suburb of Minnesota with my five children. My faith in Jesus has been a source of strength, guiding me through difficult times. I am a social person who enjoys being around others. It took me a long time to become social again after enduring domestic violence for 16 years. I am also a food enthusiast who loves coffee and hot tea.

Five years ago, I moved to the US seeking asylum from various challenges, including domestic violence. I am now a single mom raising my children independently. Despite the seriousness of the years passing by, I choose to embrace life anew while focusing on healing myself. I am a beautiful work in progress, and I advocate saying no to domestic violence," Daniella Atim wrote in her Instagram post.
