Frank Gashumba has long criticized Bobi Wine politically, but he always praises him when it comes to music.
Speaking in an interview with a local radio station, Gashumba claimed that Bobi Wine is the only one with a celebrity status in Uganda.
He believes that musicians and many journalists are just media personalities and need to work more on their brands to attain celebrity status.
The outspoken media critic said Bobi Wine attained celebrity status after joining politics. He combined both music and politics and gained friends across the world, which helped him build his brand and gain celebrity status.
"Bobi Wine is the only celebrity we have in Uganda. The rest are still media personalities and have to work hard to reach that status. Our musicians are always loitering around town and performing in every bar in Kampala. You can't be a celebrity when you are all over the streets, in Nakulabye, and the areas," he said.
Gashumba adds that the NUP President is in the same category as Beyoncé and Rihanna in the world of celebrities.
