Uganda Christian University (UCU) has received backlash after Barbie Kyagulanyi, wife of National Unity Platform (NUP) President Robert Kyagulanyi, was stopped from attending an event organized within the University.

Barbie Kyagulanyi was one of the speakers at the event themed “Combating STDS once and for all, an AIDS and STDs free Uganda"

She was supposed to discuss the implications of STDs on young women but arrived late when the organizers had already replaced her with another guest speaker.

"Her speech was slated for 10:00 am, her phones however were off for like two hours. She arrived when the organizers had already found her replacement," a source told this website.

The event had been organized by the Brendan-UDPC Initiative, fronted by Brendan Katushabe, a third-year law student at the university’s Kampala Campus and Deputy Minister of information for the campus.

Other personalities who attended the event include Douglas Lwanga, Levixone, Mc Kats, Caroline Marcah, and veteran musician, Joanitah Kawalya who was the guest of honor.
