For years now, there has been a debate on social media on whether celebrated singer Edris Musuuza a.k.a Eddy Kenzo is talented or just lucky.

They say to be on top of the industry, you must be lucky. And they also say, luck comes with hard work. With no doubt, Kenzo has worked so hard to remain relevant in the industry. He can't be ignored at all. No one would have imagined he would be one of Uganda’s top male artistes at the moment. Yet every song he releases, no matter how broken the English may seem, he’s always lucky to have a hit song out of it. It is hard to say Kenzo is talented, that would be an insult to real talent, but when it comes to hustle and luck, dude deserves credit. And he’s also lucky when it comes to ladies, Lydia Jasmine and Rema can testify.

Well, Eddy Kenzo seems to think differently, he says it's not about luck. During a recent interview with a local TV station, Kenzo said, an artiste doesn’t jump out of blue and dominate the music industry.

“There is no gambling in this game, Music is not about luck, talent matters a lot," he said.

It should be noted that Kenzo is the first East African artiste to win the prestigious BET Award.
