Singer and song writer Justin Bieber's charges of assaulting a limo driver in Toronto last year in December was withdrawn by the Crown Monday morning because there was no reasonable evidence

The reviewed surveillance video, the 911 call and police interviews with all witnesses “who were willing to speak to them,” the Crown determined there was not enough evidence to proceed to trial.

People seated behind the Limo and the Crown could not establish the identity of the person who “came in contact with the complainant” Crown attorney David Mitchell told the court.

Bieber's lawyer Brian Greenspan told reporters they are pleased with the result.

“Quite frankly it's our belief no one assaulted the driver,” Greenspan said. “That may be a continuing debate. Our position is no one associated with Mr. Bieber came into any illegal contact with the driver.”

Greenspan added that they hold nothing against the police, who did their job by investigating a complaint.
