DJ Bush Baby was hired by Urban TV management to push the TV to another level. For the last few years, he has tried but things haven’t been going well on his side. He has had ups and downs until recently when he tabled in his resignation letter.

Sources at the industrial based TV allege that Bush Baby’s resignation was overdue. He had wanted to resign from his job way back last year in October. Another insider reveals that, the board of directors have always wanted to shut down the station. They claimed that they didn’t endorse the birth of the station. It was the idea of Kabushenga to bring on Urban TV. In the beginning, it surprised many as it started making revenue immediately. Urban TV started attracting the cream TV presenters. It had adverts from different sector players.

As the years went by, presenters and producers started leaving the station over poor salary.  Some shows started crumbling.  For example, Skizzy that used to air every evening was no more. It started with Wafagio’s Sheila Ssempebwa and Mosh. They had their time at the station. Issues started arising and they had to leave for better things.

Mary Luswata’s departure hurt Urban TV most

Mary Luswata was the heart Of Urban TV. Luswata’s show was the most watched on the TV. Her Gossip show had the most adverts and more viewership. Her replacement Tinah can’t fit in her shoes because she is not informed.

Bush Baby tried to recruit people that would replace the presenters that left but management refused to support him with the budget. Top bosses at Vision Group claimed Urban TV and actually Kampala sun paper were immoral and were not up to the standards of the media house.

They their best frustrate the station and its administration. Last year we caught up Bush Baby. He claimed the ship was sinking and has nothing to do about it. He is just sitting back and also waiting to see what happens.

More vision Group products fear closure

We have also been informed that, more and more products of Vision Group are under threat. Kampala sun paper has been the top target by big Bosses. They want it closed. Sources say, the paper is under the mercy of Robert Kabushenga. Upcountry Papers especially northern papers and radios are also in fear.

Budget cut all over the department

Last year, emails were sent all over editors of sections of different departments. They were informed about the cut of budget. It was sad that some Tv presenters and producers started receiving 20k per show. Sam Kasumba and Malaika Nyannzi were the first to be frustrated and left. The latest being Bush Baby. We wish Urban TV the best.
