Nakawa Grade one Magistrate, Noah Sajjabi has committed Matthew Kanyamunyu, his girlfriend, Cynthia Munwangari and brother Joseph Kanyamunyu to High court for trial for the murder of Kenneth Akena, a child rights activist which happened at Lugogo on November 12, 2016.

Akena met his death when he accidently scratched Matthew Kanyamunyu's vehicle. This morning, the Nakawa Grade one Magistrate, Noah Sajjabi sent the suspects to High court for trial after receiving confirmation from police that investigations into the matter were complete.

In the summary of the evidence presented before court, the Director of Public Prosecutions-DPP, says that he has sufficient evidence to sustain the murder charge against the trio for the shooting Akena on the fateful day.

The DPP promises to water down claims by Matthew Kanyamunyu, his girlfriend, Cynthia Munwangari that they only acted as good Samaritans and rushed Akena to hospital when they found him bleeding from the gunshots.

During the same court session, Joseph Kanyamunyu was separately charged with an additional charge of being an accessory after commission of the offense. Sajjabi sent back the suspects to Luzira prison waiting to appear before the next convenient High Court Criminal session.
