CEO Quantum Express logistics Mathew Kanyamunyu and his lover Cynthia Munwangari have been released on bond by Police after being arrested for allegedly shooting and killing one Kenneth Watmond Akena, a USAID-CRS- SOCY project specialist from Aruu North County Pader District.

The couple was arrested on Saturday evening in connection to the shooting of a Community Development Officer (CDO), Lt Keneth Watmon for reportedly scratching their car while parking his at Game Lugogo parking lot.
Kenneth Watmond Akena, is said to have been shot in the stomach at close range for scratching another car and died at Novik Hospital moments after he was admitted.

According to the police spokesperson Mr Andrew Felix Kaweesi, told reporters that city businessman, Mathew Kanyamunyu and his wife Cynthia Munwangari were arrested to help with the investigations after being name the prime suspects by the deceased before his untimely death.

“Before his passing, Watmon said the two people (Kanyamunyu and Munwangari) who had rushed him to the Emergency room at Norvick hospital are the ones who shot him for scratching their car,” he said.
Felix Kaweesi added: “The deceased said he was reversing in the parking lot when he knocked the purported assailant’s car. And that he was shot in the abdomen when he got out of his car to apologies,” He added.

Mr Kaweesi said the two suspects were not found with any firearm upon arrest.
“Both cars had dents which confirmed the deceased’s assertion that he had knocked while reversing. However, we did not find the suspects with any gun. Our forensics officers have already started with the investigations,” Mr Kaweesi explained.
The suspects were being held at Jinja Road Police Station but have been released on bond as investigations continue.

We’ve also been told that the deceased’s body is currently being held at Mulago National referral hospital mortuary
