MTN Uganda, in partnership with Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom, has announced the highly anticipated launch of the second edition of the MTN Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom Masaza Tournament. The official launch of the tournament took place at the Rukurato Gardens in Hoima District where the team jerseys of the 15 participating counties were revealed marking the commencement of this exciting sports extravaganza.

Building on the success of the inaugural tournament, MTN Uganda is enthusiastic to continue uplifting the socio-economic and cultural well-being of the kingdom’s subjects through this sporting extravaganza. The theme for this year’s tournament is “Hard Work, Good Health & Unity – A Prerequisite for the Consolidation of the Glory of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom.”

“We are thrilled to launch the second edition of the MTN Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom Masaza Tournament,” said John Paul Okwi, the MTN Uganda Sponsorships and Events Manager. “This tournament is another significant milestone in our ongoing partnership and demonstrates our dedication to the socio-economic growth and cultural preservation of the region.”

As MTN continues to deepen its roots in Uganda through these ongoing races and games, the brand remains steadfast in its commitment to empowering communities. The MTN Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom Masaza Tournament embodies the spirit of togetherness and resilience, reinforcing the belief that, together, we are unstoppable.

“The Kingdom appreciates the good working relationship with MTN, particularly in promoting sports at Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom. Both the Enganda football tournament and Amasaza bicycle race shall promote unity and cultural identity among our people in the Kingdom,” said 1st Deputy Prime Minister & Minister for Culture, Hon. Mutiti Nyendwoha.

At the launch event, the 15 team jerseys, representing the participating counties, were unveiled to the media and kingdom administrators. This symbolic gesture not only highlights the unity and spirit of competition but also signifies the collaborative effort between MTN Uganda and Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom in promoting sports and community development.

The MTN Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom Masaza Tournament aims to foster a sense of pride, sportsmanship, and camaraderie among the participants and the wider community. The tournament will feature football matches and bicycle races, showcasing the talents and skills of the county representatives. Cash prizes, trophies, and medals will be awarded to the top performers, both at the county level and in the overall competitions.
