The National Insurance Corporation Limited (NIC) has partnered with Hospice Africa Uganda.

The partnership involves NIC staff volunteering at the Hospice offices and running donation drives within the organisation and among the NIC community on social media.

“This is in line with NIC’s community development programme through capacity building and fundraising to ensure sustainability of the partnership.” -- Said the Managing Director of NIC, Mr. Bayo Folayan

Mr Folayan thanked Hospice Africa Uganda for partnering with NIC in a cause that is close to the community and noted that this is not a one-off, but a long-term partnership.

“Our vision in supporting the Hospice Africa Uganda is to create an enabling enviroment for those in palliative care to be comfortable and support organisations which provide this valuable service,” Mr Folayan added at the NIC offices in Kampala.

This year, NIC is celebrating 50 years of service, and this is part of the corporation’s activities for the anniversary celebrations.

“Palliative care improves the quality of life of patients and their families facing the struggles associated with life-threatening illness by holistically addressing their physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs. HAU’s approach includes direct service delivery, training and supporting partner organisations to integrate palliative care into their services, and advocacy for palliative care. We are delighted that NIC is supporting us in our efforts,” -- said HAU’s Amy Petersen.
