Five People were injured this morning after a bus they were traveling in was involved in an accident at Nakazi village along Kampala-Gulu highway.

Five People were injured this morning after a bus they were traveling in was involved in an accident at Nakazi village along Kampala-Gulu highway.

The victims, identified as Richard Obora, Michael Okello, James Oloya all from Pader district, Betty Ajol and Baker Okello, all from Lira district are currently receiving treatment at Luweero Hospital after sustaining in injuries in the accident.

The bus, registration number UAM 834Y belonging to Real Bus Company destined for Kampala got an accident at around 4;00am this morning when the driver lost control after a trailer heading opposite direction hit him with full lights. 

According to Isah Semwogerere the Savannah Region Police Spokesperson, the bus driver as Richard Gimei lost control and veered off the road. Traffic officers from Luweero Central Police station rushed to the scene and managed to evacuate five people who had sustained injuries. 

The victims are stable at Luweero Hospital and they will be discharged soon, Ssemwogerere says.
