The number of dead bodies retrieved in Bududa has hit 21 after more bodies were found on Thursday and Friday.

Earlier this week, 12 bodies had been found and the President in a statement, mourned with the families that lost their loved ones and the entire country as a whole.

Some of the survivors say the number could reach 30 if the search is not abandoned by UNRA which had called back their tractor earlier today.

Area leaders say it took the intervention of the Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda for the tractor which is currently used to dig the soil in Hope of recovering more bodies, to get back to work.

On Tuesday last week, heavy rains hit Bududa and washed away homes and buried at least one hundred people. The Uganda National Roads Authority has since deployed a tractor that is being used to retrieve bodies.

Mid this week, President Yoweri Museveni said government will consider cash compensation to help resettle the victims.

At least 15 other bodies were recovered in Bundibugyo where other floods hit. On Thursday, government started distributing relief food to the victims.
