Uganda Christian University Crowned Champions of  University Football League

The Head Coach of UCU said their success was due to co-operation and team work between the players and the administration.

Uganda Christian University(UCU) has today defeated St. Lawrence University with two goals to one.

The finals which took place at Startimes Stadium, Lugogo saw the Mukono based University winning the first University Football League title.

The goals for UCU were scored by Julius Kaye, at ninety minutes and he was also named  as the man of the match.

St. Lawrence University only scored one goal. 

This is the first time UCU has reached the finals of the league.

The Head Coach of UCU said their success was due to co-operation and team work between the players and the administration.

"It is always God first. The team work and the cooperation that was exhibited by the team was perfect. The players have been wonderful today and we thank the administration for transporting our fans all the way from Mukono," Jimmy noted.

The University league started in March this year and concluded over the weekend.
Bugema University came third after beating Uganda Martyrs Nkozi on  4 goals to 2 in penalties after the ninety minutes ended in a 3- 3 draw.
