Mirinda Miss Teen crown is set this weekend as 15 teenage girls eye the crown for 2015/16. This year’s competition is fourth season and it will be hosted at Kati Kati restaurant in Kampala August 29.

Mirinda Miss Teen is an annual talent contest that aims at showcasing the great talents and characters of today’s teenage girls. This year’s theme is; “Work Hard, Play Hard”; meaning the next Mirinda Miss Teen will be a girl who is not only beautiful and smart but is also fun-loving.

“The heavy investment we have made implies that we are going to have a grand ending to the competition in terms of entertainment and the entire organisation,” says Innocent Tibayeita, the head of marketing and sales at Crown Beverages Limited.

The girls were selected following an intensive, but exciting, search that attracted at least 800 girls across the county, mainly in Bushenyi, Jinja, Mbale, Gulu, Lira, Mbarara, Kampala, Iganga, Mayuge, and Wakiso districts.

Fourteen-year-old Keza Namazzi from Mt St Mary’s Namagunga is the reigning Mirinda Miss Teen, and the second runner-up was Gloria Rutaremwa of Seeta High. Marianne Katusiime, now of Gayaza High School, was the first runner-up.

The winner will take home Shs 2m worth of school fees for a year,  the first runner-up Shs 1.5m and 2nd runner-up Shs 1.2m. Other categories where teens will be competing in are Miss Ambitious, Miss Fashionista, and Miss Play Hard.

A rich lineup of Ugandan musicians and other performers and celebrities will be present and a host of fan challenges have been developed to enable teenagers win lots of Mirinda goodies.

The Shs 5,000 entrance to the venue also comes with a soda.
