Pastor Yiga Augustine famously known as Abizaayo breathed his last on Tuesday morning at Nsambya Hospital.
The Pastor, who had studied his audience often created content that suited them.
He made us laugh with well directed drama skits that always targeted his unsuspecting audience . His 'miracles' kept many glued on his TV station.
Although, he is mostly remembered for preaching the word of God, he was also famous in the music circles.
He died with the dream of rebuilding the defunct Revival band. He joined the industry armed with several musicians who left a mark on the industry. He managed a number of musicians like Maggie Kayima aka Nabbi Omukazi, Hassan Nduga, Benah Namisiga, Hajati Marina among others.
As their manager, he always demanded the best from them to suit the target audience.
Hassan Nduga released 'Ebintu bizibu', 'Omugugu' among others.
Nambi Omukazi released 'Nyamba', 'emitima gyabantu', 'Yatuma' alongside Chameleone, Hajati madina is remembered for her 'Bibuza' hit and many more.
The band which started in 2008 was dissolved in 2015 after it was hit by sexual allegations against the Pastor and unending internal conflicts among the musicians.
Pastor Yiga had vowed to revive the band in 2015 but he died before fulfilling his dream.
"We are going to show the world that the band is here to stay, new people have been brought in and we are going to train them very well, those who left the band thinking it will derail wasted their time," he said back in 2015 shortly after Nabi Omukazi left the church.
But the band never recovered and it is now focused on church hymns and praises.
In an interview with a local Radio, Hajati Madina mourned the death of Pastor Yiga and asked God to forgive him for whatever went wrong.
"I received the news of the Pastor's death early morning as I was heading to the market for some shopping. He has been a good man and all I want is for God to pardon him where he went wrong. I will never forget that he gave me a house in Rubaga when I had no where to stay," she said.
The music sector continues to mourn the death of its own at a time when the industry has been hit hard with the effects of the Covid-19.
