Musician Joseph Mayanja commonly known as Jose Chameleone is blaming Kampala politicians for failing to tackle the rampant floods paralysing the Capital city.
This year, the floods have been particularly devastating. Poor drainage systems, poor waste disposal and land topography all combined make the city a nightmare.
And Chameleone who is set to run for the post of Lord Mayor Kampala City 2021 promises to solve this crisis.
"I am so dismayed with the ever worsening flooding of roads, channels in low laying areas in Kampala.
It hurts to see work getting to a hault , many of us affected. Roads cut off, Even with a slight down pour.
Our Kampala Needs solutions not promises.
The rains we receive can not justify the nature of floods cutting off roads displacing and killing our people.
The people of Kampala deserve better. We must reverse this Night mare and give our city a green and fresh Life.
Clearing Kampala of flood is going to be my number one priority if you grant me a chance to build our great City.
Am here for solutions NOT promises.
Been silent because I am traveling all over the world consulting and Making links from cities that we shall work with together for a greater Capital City," he posted.
Chameleone is expected to face a tough race with senior politicians like incumbent Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, Godfrey Nyakana, the NRM chairperson, and Latif Ssebaggala.
