The Uganda Musicians Association(UMA) was slowly sinking after musicians failed to come to an understanding on who should lead the group.
In September last year, the former chairman of the association, Julius Kyazze stepped down due to pressure. He had been elected by musicians, journalists and deejays at a meeting that took place at Laftaz lounge in October 2017.
And a new committee was selected a month ago at Jahazi Pier, Munyonyo.
It is headed by faded musician Sophie Gombya as the President and Ykee Benda as Vice President among others.
The latest members to join the committee are; Bebe Cool, Jose Chameleone and Mesach Ssemakula, who have been appointed as advisors.
The musicians will work hand in hand with other leaders and advise on the right direction the association should take.
They were appointed during a meeting that was held at Jose Chameleone’s DNA Lounge in Kololo.
