We have been in Mbarara since the beginning of May trying to understand the nightlife the town. On a Friday night, one can mistake Mbarara to be Kampala. The town is always is so busy and noise comes from all corners.

Mbarara Men are Lustful

When the night falls, men become unsettled.  They move from bar to bar looking for women to quench their thirsty.  They are horny and willing to bed any woman.

At Niko’s bar, the most notorious in Mbarara, men riot and they grab every woman that they land their eyes on when alcohol takes over their bodies.

Even the most decent men (corporates) that hang out at ICE LOUNGE are also horny. As long as they are drunk, they will tap any woman that comes in the bar. The same story happens at Vegas bar that is located around Golf Course area. At Vegas, Mbarara University students flood the place like beers. It is the place to hook the gorgeous babes.

Women are too slow

These women take time to decide. They ask very many questions like want kind of a car you are driving, which lodge you’re staying at and the kind of beer you take. Apart from prostitutes, the average women are very slow. They don’t decide instantly. If you’re not patient, you can’t land on a woman to keep you warm for a night. They just want to detooth and disappear in the dark.

Lodges are Full all Night

We moved along Bananuka drive that has a good number of the elite lodges in town. We tried to check in at Oxford inn on Friday night but we were told that there were no room left. We were told SERIOUS MEN were busy inside harvesting BEANS.

When we moved to Pelikan hotel, only two rooms were left but were told they were reserved for the bosses’ friends who had not yet confirmed that they were coming. We moved along that street and ended up at a cheaper and noisy lodge called SABS.

At SABS, lorry drivers and heavy moving trucks drivers are their most clients. Few rooms were left but when we visited the rooms...huh... corridors were flooded with water oozing from the rooms, moaning as though it was immunisation day and crying voices of women welcomed us.

At 3 am, we concluded that Mbarara’s lodges are the busiest in the whole country. Unlike Kampala where lodges get busy during the day and first few hours of the evening, Mbarara lodges are busy throughout the night.
