Minister Muruli Mukasa Orders Prince Kijjanangoma off Tooro Kingship

The ministry of gender, labor and social development has distanced itself from any dealings with a one Prince David Kijjanangoma who is allegedly planning to overthrow the current King of Tooro Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi the 4th.

Prince David The ministry of gender, labor and social development has distanced itself from any dealings with a one Prince David Kijjanangoma who is allegedly planning to overthrow the current King of Tooro Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi the 4th.

According to a statement released by Wilson Muruli Mukasa the minister of gender labor and social development and copied to the police, the law provides for the process of installation of a traditional or cultural leader only if a person is allegiance from birth, descent in accordance with article 246 (1) to 6 of the constitution.

Prince David Kijjanangoma addresses subjects. 

Addressing the media in Kampala this morning, Minister Muruli Mukasa said that the ministry does not have any communication in writing to indicate that the supporters of Kijjanangoma have duly followed the process.

“Therefore, Prince Kijanangoma’s proposed enthronement as the Omukama of Tooro is contrary to the provision of the institution of traditional or cultural leaders Act, 2011, since the ministry has not received any communication about his existence as the traditional leader as per the law.” Added Mukasa

The ministry therefore directed him and his supporters to stop forthwith the activities related to the overthrow of the current reigning King Oyo and enthronement of Kijjanangoma in the guise of uniting Tooro.
