President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has this morning opened an 8 billion shillings Ugandan commission chancery in neighboring Rwanda, ahead of the Northern Corridor Infrastructure Projects summit.

According to Lindah Nabusayi, the Presidential press secretary, the chancery is set to save Uganda, Shs400m in rent.

The president also tweeted upon the opening; “I am pleased to officially open the new Uganda High Commission Chancery in Kigali, Rwanda worth Shs8bn.”

Museveni added; “with our own embassy building in Rwanda, government will save 400mUGX that would otherwise be spent on rent.”

The incumbent President who has been on a busy campaign trail for the past few months took a break to join his Rwandan and Kenyan Counterparts for the 12th Northern Corridor Integration Summit where they will discuss progress of projects being implemented by partner States to improve intra-regional trade and people-to-people relations.

The summit is taking place in Kigali, Rwanda.

Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyata also arrived in Kigali this morning for the same event.
