Former political candidates at different levels who stood on the ruling National Resistance Movement-NRM ticket in Sironko district want the party Secretary-General, Richard Todwong to consider deploying them in different government ministries and departments.

The former candidates including among others, Herbert Mulekwa, the former Sironko District LC V Chairperson, Vincent Weboya, the former Budadir East Member of Parliament, and Dr. Cosea Wambaka, the former Budadir West parliamentary candidate say they have been abandoned and need a deployment to save them from financial problems they are faced with.

During a reconciliation meeting over the weekend, they gentlemen told Todwong that they cannot be left to waste away yet they are cable of serving the party in various capacities if given the opportunity.

According to John Kiwunhulo a former candidate for the Budadir East MP Seat, the party should consider deploying him in any capacity because he has many people behind him in form of financial support.
Kiwunhulo argues that by employing him, the government will have supported many other people behind him.

The same sentiment was shared by Vincent Weboya the former Budadir East MP, who explained that the secretariat needs to empower them such that they are also able to empower others at the grassroots.
Richard Todwong in his response noted that there are no vacant positions because of the huge population in the country. Adding that the NRM party has created an enabling environment for people to start up their own businesses, saying that the party is planning to make leadership positions less attractive such that people don’t fight to be leaders.
It is common practice for the President, also NRM chairman to deploy loyal party members who lose elections in different capacities including ministerial and ambassadorial offices.
