Supporters of the Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) political Party in Ankole subregion have been urged to stay course as the party won some seats in the January 2021 elections.
During a review meeting with Party flagbearers in the ongoing post election tour in Mbarara, the Party President Gen. Mugisha Muntu noted that their performance generally was not good, but they have local leaders who won.
He noted that the party is focusing on attracting leaders with value to secure the country’s future.
“We intend to build public perception around these leaders. We have a district chairperson in Terego, a number of councillors, Mayors and subcounty chairpersons in Bugweri and Zombo and in other districts. They are focused and have skills to act as a model of the ANT leadership" Muntu said.
During the Tuesday meeting, Muntu said they are continuing with their mobilization of people at the grass-roots with intentions of building an organisation whose members believe in what their leaders say and talk.
Adding that the country cannot depend on an individual but can only be secure when the majority of the leaders are valuable and share the same state of mind of being fair, just, transparent and democratic.
After their nationwide review meetings, Muntu says ANT will focus on doing everything humanly possible to replicate the party values across generations.
