Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has beaten 10 competitors to bounce back.

Lukwago was Thursday announced winner of the Wednesday January 20th 2021 polls after garnering 194,592 votes beating National Unity Platform, NUP party candidate Nabilah Nagayi Ssempala who polled 60,082. 

He beat her with a difference of 134,510 votes.

Lukwago who had earlier insinuated that Nabilah was an NRM mole and did not deserve a seat in the opposition, was excited and confidence of the won by Wednesday evening, that he took to his Facebook page to celebrate and applaud his voters.

“What a historic moment!. Praise be to the Almighty. THANK YOU KAMPALA!.The Statement is unequivocally loud and clear: OMULOODI WAALI. Our love is etched in stone. Asante sana. Mungu awabarik” he noted.

Final results announced on Thursday afternoon by Mulimira Barbra the Returning Officer for Kampala Electoral District also put Daniel Kazibwe alias Ragga Dee, the ruling NRM Party candidate in position with 23,388 votes while his fellow singer Joseph Mayanja alias Chameleone came in fourth position with 12, 212 votes.

Democratic Party’s Charles Ssenkubuge came 5th with 2,355 votes, followed by Independent candidates; Kawooya Innocent with 762, Micheal Evans Mugabi with 522, Eddie Kibalama with 490, Alliance for National Transformation candidate Yakubu Musaazi with 478, independent candidates Isaac Sendagire and Ben Lule with 386 and 325 respectively.
