Forum for Democratic Change, FDC party has accused former DPC of CPS Joseph Bakaleke, of pepper spraying the Party’s Presidential Candidate Patrick Oboi Amuriat in the eyes at Bweyale-Kiryandongo district.

Amuriat arrived in Bweyale on Wednesday morning and was welcomed by huge crowds of people who filled the roads and slowed down traffic. This prompted police to fire teargas and live bullets.

In the process, the party alleges that Bakaleke approached their presidential candidate and sprayed his eyes with pepper.

“Joseph Bakaleke, former DPC of CPS is on rampage again. He pepper sprayed our Presidential Candidate Patrick Oboi Amuriat in the eyes at Bweyale-Kiryandongo district. With a Face mask and Jacket on, he thought he had hidden his identity. Joseph forgets that just like his colleagues in Uniform, he badly needs to be liberated” FDC posted on its official social media handles.

The party also claims Bweyale has always been home to the FDC and change. Adding that amidst teargas, pepper and bullets, the resilient People of the area walked along with and jubilated Amuriat’s arrival.

“This year's "selection" mis interpreted for an election is continuous demonstration to dictator Museveni that he is only living on borrowed time and will surely be evacuated” the party added.

After the confrontation with police, a hungry and barefooted Amuriat was seen buying chapati from a street vendor.
